Grade ll Listed Roofing Project

In this noteworthy project, we undertook the meticulous repair and restoration of a Grade ll historic building’s roofing. This involved the delicate refurbishment of natural slate and lead flashing on the pitched roof, along with the comprehensive repair and enhancement of the asphalt and roof lanterns on the flat roof extension. Our commitment was to preserve the building's original design and architectural integrity, enhancing its durability and energy efficiency while respecting its historical significance.

Our approach was grounded in respect for the building's heritage and architectural design. We ensured that all repairs and restorations were "like for like" - a principle guiding us to select materials and methods that perfectly matched the existing structures. This adherence not only maintained the visual appearance and character of the building but also safeguarded its historical value. Our work addressed immediate issues such as water ingress and improved the building’s energy efficiency while reducing the likelihood of future maintenance issues.

The project meticulously aligned with heritage conservation guidelines and building codes, ensuring our interventions were sympathetic to the building's historic character while fulfilling contemporary safety and accessibility standards.

Located within a sensitive context, the building required a thoughtful approach to restoration. Our project ensured that the original features of the property were preserved and enhanced, respecting the building’s historical significance and the character of the surrounding area. By using like-for-like materials, we ensured that the updates remained in harmony with the original structure, thereby maintaining the building's identity within its setting.

This restoration project stands as a testament to our dedication to preserving historical architecture, combining expert craftsmanship with a deep understanding of heritage values. We are proud to have contributed to the conservation of our built heritage, ensuring that it continues to tell its story for generations to come.
